BV Science at the 4th Animal Gut Health & Nutrition Summit
BV Science will participate in the 4th Animal Gut Health & Nutrition Summit, to be held on October 12-14, under the motto Transforming Animal Health Via the Microbiome.
V Science, the US company of Vetanco SA and Dr. Bata Ltd., will be present at the 4th Animal Gut Health & Nutrition Summit, to be held on October 12-14, under the motto Transforming Animal Health Via the Microbiome, through a Workshop led by Sherry Layton, Ph.D., the company’s Chief Science Officer, together with Elizabeth Santin, Ph.D., Vice President of Research and Development at Jefo Nutrition Inc. The workshop will be about Precision Intestinal Nutrition: The Challenge to Modulate Microbiome by Nutrition to Achieve the Best Performance for Each Animal Species.
This workshop will help understand the microbiome difference between companion and production animals, and the best profile for the different objectives associated with each animal species (i.e., weight gain, meat production, health and well-being). It will further explore how these differences drive alternative research and development strategies and help identify the nutrients or additives that best modulate the microbiome according to animal performance.
According to the representative of BV Science: “Depending on what animal type you are targeting your product on, your objectives will differ. For example, in livestock, to increase production or efficiency whereas in companion animals, to improve their behavior or gut health. Therefore, translating developments in the human space or across animals may not be effective.”
